We are at a tipping point in the history of enterprise software because of AI.
For decades, software has helped businesses scale, automate, and streamline processes, but it's also added complexity, overhead, and inefficiency. The CRMs and ERPs that were meant to streamline work now demand our constant attention—data entry, manual tracking, and routine updates from users. It's backwards, it's expensive, it's slow, and it's holding us back.
AI will change all of that. It'll give us more time to talk to our customers and build better products.
That's why I've created a new company called Agency. We've been building behind the scenes with a small team of engineers over the last year, and today we're launching and announcing our $12M seed round of funding led by Sequoia and HubSpot Ventures.
Agency will navigate complex B2B customer success workflows like the interplay between IT, legal, and security. It will be a complete set of solutions to retain customers and expand revenue in companies without hiring exponentially. It's not just software you use; it's software that you hire to work for you. And as a result, you can be 10x, 100x, 1000x more efficient as a business.
The company is called Agency, because that's the vision. Just like hiring an agency, our product will handle the work for you – and without the meetings, contracts, and back-and-forths.
“This is not customer service. This is customer success. That's really hard and no one else is even trying it,” said Pat Grady, Partner at Sequoia Capital. “Customer service is B2C. Transactional inquiries like 'where is my order?' Customer success is B2B. It's a whole other level of sophistication, and if you can crack that you can go after all of the customer-facing workflows, including marketing and sales. This is not a better 'call center agent'. This is '10x the productivity for half of your workforce'. Sequoia has partnered with Agency because we see something special here.”
Our initial focus will be Customer Success, Customer Success Managers, and the post-sales motion. Agency will unify all your communications and customer data, running autonomously to handle scheduling, follow-ups, note-taking, customer onboarding, and call prep. If you need something, just ask. “What's up with that new customer?,” “What do I need to know for my dinner with Alyssa?,” “Any customers I should be worried about?” “What happened at our last meeting?”
I am excited about the opportunity ahead of us in building Agency. It's not hyperbole: I really believe that everything is about to change. We are building for the future of work—one where billion-dollar companies can run with teams of 100, not thousands. Where AI handles the heavy lifting, and you can focus on growing your business. It's not about cutting jobs because of AI; it's about helping companies grow smarter, faster, and more responsibly with AI.
We're announcing also with a diverse group of angel investors alongside Sequoia and Hubspot Ventures, including CEO of MomsFirst Reshma Saujani, Samara Hernandez at Chingona Ventures, Sarah Guo at Conviction Ventures, Shruti Gandhi at Array Ventures, and Marell Evans at Exceptional Capital, Nat Friedman at NFDG Ventures.
If you are in Customer Success and want to join the waiting list for our product, you can chat with us at agency.inc.
Right now, we're heads down, building. If you're interested in joining us early—as a partner, a design collaborator, or just to stay in the loop—we'd love to hear from you.
I'm grateful to our incredible team and our investors for believing in this vision—and it's an honor to have HubSpot Founder and Executive Chairman Brian Halligan joining our board at Agency. He's been an invaluable mentor for me and will be a key partner on our journey to build the future of enterprise software.
Welcome to Agency.
Sincerely,
Elias Torres Founder and CEO of Agency
